Every successful garment begins with a clear process. At Rainwear, we collaborate with our buyers to develop products through detailed planning, technical expertise, and continuous quality checks. From concept development and sampling to production readiness, we ensure every detail meets the required standards.
One Team, Start to Finish
When a buyer comes to us — whether with a finished brief or just a rough idea — we take full ownership of the project from that point. We don’t hand parts of it off to third parties. Our team handles design, sourcing, testing, sampling, and production internally. Keeping everything in-house means greater consistency and faster turnaround.
Sourcing Materials
Finding the right fabric and trims for a technical garment isn’t always straightforward. We work with a carefully chosen group of suppliers across Europe and the US — partners we’ve built relationships with over 30 years. We know who delivers consistent quality, who can meet tight lead times, and who can supply materials that perform under real-world conditions.
Our sourcing covers specialist functional fabrics — waterproof laminates, fire-resistant weaves, military-grade composites — as well as technical trims like high-strength Waterproof zippers and structural webbing. Because we work with multiple suppliers, we’re never locked in if one runs short or hits a delay. We can switch without disrupting the production timeline.
Testing In-House
We test materials in our own internal lab. This lets us check waterproofing, stretch and recovery, tensile strength, and abrasion resistance quickly — and make changes on the spot if something doesn’t perform as needed.
This matters most for clients with strict performance requirements, such as military contracts, where materials must meet specific standards before they can be used. Testing and adjusting in the same place, on the same day, keeps development moving without unnecessary back-and-forth. We also work with external testing labs when requested by the buyer.
Running the Factory
The factory floor is laid out to minimize wasted movement and keep production flowing. We run on BlueCherry system an end-to-end apparel ERP system that gives us real-time visibility across every stage of production. Alongside this, we operate an SGS quality management system that lets us monitor and measure efficiency across the factory floor. Between the two, we know exactly where every order stands at any point in time.
The Gold Seal: No Bulk Without Sign-Off
We never begin bulk production until the final approved sample — what we call the Gold Seal — has been confirmed by all parties. This sample sets the standard for the entire run: exact materials, construction, sizing, and finishing.
It might sound like a formality, but it prevents one of the most costly problems in manufacturing — starting mass production from a sample that wasn’t fully right and having to redo thousands of units. The Gold Seal is the gate. Nothing passes through it until everyone is satisfied.
